Topic — When my African American friends want to sort something out, or call someone into account (including me sometimes) they would share a few Home Truths, another version of speaking a deep truth. It can be a healing thing. This time of division in the world could also be a time of healing if we could share and receive a few Home Truths. (The basis for these reflections comes from Isabel Wilkerson and the film “Origins”).
Bio — Rev. Dr. Elaine served as the settled minister in the UU Fellowship of Wayne County in Wooster for 23 years before semi-retiring. She now co-chairs the regional Commissioned Lay Ministry Council and offers Spiritual Direction to a wide variety of people. Walking, gardening, and tai chi keep her grounded and inspired.
