SUMMARY:Jacquie Zarley -- Anything worth doing is worth doing badly; in front of everyone
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Service – 10:30 a.m. \nSpeaker: Jacquie Zarley\nLeader: Hayley Young \nTitle: Anything worth doing is worth doing badly; in front of everyone\nTopic: In our capitalistic world\, we have all been conditioned to “produce”. Everything we do must be commodified and marketed. This type of thinking means everything must be perfect in order to please the masses. Not only does this prevent many of us from sharing our gifts and newly developing talents with others\, it also causes us to be terrified of making mistakes and failing in front of others. Failing and making mistakes is an important part of learning.\nThis “I must do it perfectly or not at all” mentality is a huge block to our anti-racism work. We are often so afraid to make mistakes and be called out that we stand frozen\, unable to take the risks necessary to change. What if we began to normalize making mistakes\, failing and doing things badly in front of others? How might this improve our ability to take risks? In a world full of fearful experts\, This sermon challenges you to dare to be a risk taking hot mess! \nBio: Jacquie Zarley is a 2020 graduate of the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. She is an Aspirant in the Unitarian Universalist Ministerial Fellowshiping process. She is a member.of the North Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Lewis Center\, Ohio. Jacquie is the newly appointed Moderator of the Social Justice Committee for The Interfaith Association of Central Ohio (IACO) She lives with her partner\, Karlan in Wadsworth\, Ohio \n*Mask are requested in the building*\nFellowship not available at this time.

SUMMARY:Ron Boyd -- Ancient Egyptian Origins of Bible Teachings
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Service — 10:30 a.m. \nSpeaker: Ron Boyd\nLeader: Brian Moore \nTitle: Ancient Egyptian Origins of Bible Teachings \nTopic: Ron was raised with the teachings of the Bible when he was younger. More recently\, when studying Ancient Egyptian teachings he came to see some of the Bible teachings in a new light.\nWhile UU’s recognize many religious sources and paths\, the teachings of Ancient Egypt is not one of them.\nIn fact\, until the hieroglyphs were deciphered around the year 1800\, much of this knowledge and wisdom was lost.\nEven today\, this knowledge is probably only common in academic circles\, and the general public is largely oblivious to it’s insights and influences.\nJoin us on this intriguing journey of rediscovery. \nBio: In 2016 Ron founded his organization Mystic Spirit Presentations which serves to inform\, educate\, and inspire interested parties throughout Ohio and beyond. He is the recent past president of Merging Hearts Spiritual Center in Canton Ohio\, where he has led numerous programs on topics pertaining to spiritual growth\, religious education\, and environmental education.\nRon was UU for over 20 years\, a past president of his congregation\, and has spoken for numerous UU congregations and religious organizations over the years.\nRon speaks on a variety of topics\, drawing from a diverse range of sources\, such as religion\, spirituality\, philosophy\, psychology\, mythology\, sociology\, science\, mathematics\, and ecology\, to name a few.\nRon is a strong advocate for finding solutions for our current environmental issues\, and sees this as one of the most critical moral issues we are facing in our time. \n*Mask are requested in the building*\nFellowship not available at this time.

SUMMARY:John Lorson -- St. Francis and The Rail Trail Naturalist
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Service — 10:30 a.m. \nSpeaker — John Lorson\nLeader — Karen Gotter \nTitle: St. Francis and The Rail Trail Naturalist \nTopic: I will draw upon my experiences–told through photographs and stories–of my daily\, year-round bicycle commutes to and from work through rural Wayne and Holmes Counties. \nBio: By day\, you might find John Lorson ankle deep in the byproducts of Ohio’s agricultural bounty as Program Administrator for the Wayne Soil and Water Conservation District. While deeply moving in many ways\, livestock manure isn’t John’s only passion. He draws great inspiration from his year-round\, daily\, bicycle commute to and from work in the heart of Ohio’s Amish Country—a Sisyphean journey now in its 15th year. The trip has spawned hundreds of stories that have fueled stand-up bits\, keynote presentations and a decades-long presence in newsprint. The thousands of photographs that corroborate those stories have appeared in gallery shows\, live presentations and several years of large format calendars. They’ve also spawned a loyal following on Instagram @railtrailnaturalist and Facebook @JohnLorsonSendHelp. John’s nature column “Rail Trail Naturalist” appears twice monthly in “The Bargain Hunter” newspapers in Wayne and Holmes Counties.\nWhen the work\, the ride or the countryside fail to fully inspire\, the constant cacophony of children\, pets and eccentric friends that surround John and his wife of 33 years\, artist Kristin Kovach Lorson\, always seems to pull through. Many folks know John and Kristin through their weekly humor columns “Send Help” and “Drawing Laughter” a story-and-cartoon collaboration which have collectively appeared in local newspapers in Wayne and Holmes counties every week for over 25 years. \n*Mask are requested in the building*\nFellowship not available at this time.

SUMMARY:Diane Howard -- Walking the Talk
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Service — 10:30 a.m. \nSpeaker — Diane Howard\nLeader — Reed Richmond \nTitle — Walking the Talk\nTopic — Ways that we can follow through and help our neighbors using scripture references from James 2:15-17 and Luke 10:29-37 \nBio — I have served on the board for the Matthew 25 Outreach Center for the past 4 years. Matthew 25 is an organization with the mission “Working together to meet needs as we build relationships” which we do through the distribution of produce in Ashland\, Richland\, and Wayne Counties. At the Mansfield distribution\, my task is to help with the fun food which consists of pastries and snack food donated by an organization located in Wooster. I help organize the bulk food and direct volunteers to box the bulk items into family sized portions and then distribute it to those who come to the drive through distribution. During my service so far\, I have helped to write multiple grants so that we can continue to expand our service to those who are hungry in the three counties we serve as well as explore opportunities to expand into other surrounding counties as we know there are many hungry people throughout our corner of the world. \n*Mask are requested in the building*\nFellowship not available at this time.
