He holds a Ph.D from Michigan State University. He has maintained an active Clinical and Consulting practice. He also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Texas Christian University. He is ordained in the Congregational Church (United Church of Christ) and The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He has served on the faculties of Texas Christian University\, Bethany College\, The Ohio State University\, and The Renaissance Academy of Florida Gulf Coast University. He is the author of five books\, “Healthy\nReligion\,” “A Believable Bible\,” “A Credible Christianity”\, and “Spirituality Without Sin and Salvation.” His newest book #5 will be available early 2019. The title is “Spiritual Psychology.” He conducts seminars and is a frequent speaker in the fields of Psychology\, Religion\, and Spirituality.

DESCRIPTION:10:30 a.m. Sunday Service \nSpeaker: Mary DeLamatre “The Climate Crisis: Let’s Work Together to Solve Our World’s Biggest Challenge.” \nTopic: My presentation is about the climate crisis and what we can do about it. The work I do every day to slow down climate change is rooted in my belief that God calls us to take care of God’s creation and to help people all around the world who are already\nbeing hurt so badly by climate change. My presentation has 3 parts. The first section gives facts about climate change\, what it’s caused by and how it effects people locally\, around the country and around the world. The second section talks about what people are doing in response to climate change\, such as the facts about the clean energy sector\, planting trees and electric cars. The 3rd section discusses the Paris Climate Agreements and what all of us can do every day to fight climate change”. . \nBio: I am a stay at home mom with two teenagers\, Katie and Sam. My first career was doing research in Psychology\, and I got my Ph. D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and then worked for various research projects before . When my kids became teenagers\, I was thinking about going back to work part-time\, but then I read the 4th National Climate Assessment in November 2018\, and I felt I was called to take action on climate change. I applied and was selected for Climate Reality Project Leadership training which was to take place in Atlanta\, and I attended in March of 2019. Since then I have given 8 presentations to a wide variety of audiences: some at churches\, some not\, some to large audiences\, some to small\, some in the Midwest\, some in the South.

A single mother of three adult sons and she has 6 beautiful grandchildren. She has attended North Central State College and Akron’s University Wayne College as a Social Work major; there\, she was a two-year scholarship recipient. Currently she is an undergraduate social work student at Capital University in Columbus\, Ohio\, in her senior year. She works part time with the homeless population\, and in her spare time she enjoys mentoring young women who are rebuilding their lives\nLatonya has been Chair of Mansfield Branch NAACP Voter Registration for a year and a half and she enjoys educating others concerning the many challenges Blacks are still encountering with/ their vote\, learning about the tactics of voter suppression\, expanding the turnout among infrequent voters\, registering voters\, organizing public forums and “Meet The Candidates Night”.\nShe will purser a career in Community Development\, and her focus is improving relationships among unrepresented groups and city council. Latonya’s passion is helping individuals who are oppressed by a fault of their own or by society’s standards. Additional plans include stretching the city beyond its capacity and extending boundaries\, while eliminating social barriers. Her strong belief is that strong community building must include all.\nCivic engagement is no stranger to her. Growing up she witnessed her mother Betty Palmer-Harris making a difference in the community\, who she says is her idol. Latonya lives by the NAACP Mission Statement: To secure the political\, educational\, social\, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.\nThe Library is her favorite place to be\, and jigsaw puzzles are her favorite hobby.

DESCRIPTION:10:30 a.m. Sunday Service \nSpeaker: Dr. Walter Kania \nTopic: What does the word “Divine” mean?\nWhen we call something Divine we are usually referring to:\n– A Power beyond our imagination.\n– A Force or Power that is WITHIN us but is not OF us.\n– A Force behind and beyond all that exists and that is responsible for all that exists.\n– The Invisible that is beyond the Creation of all that is visible. \nWhat is the Field?\nWhen we refer to the Field we are talking about:\n– A vast sea of energy within the Universe that also contains the entire Universe. We sometimes call this the Divine or the Source of all that exists.\n– The Essence of the Supernatural or Paranormal.\n– The place where Mind and Matter are connected.\n– That which connects us to each other and to all that exists. \nToday’s message will provide us with the results of experiments in Quantum Physics that identify the presence of what we call the Divine in the Field. It is a Force and an Energy that exists in what is sometimes called the Zero Point Field. It operates in a realm about which we know little but provides evidence of its existence in all of our lives. \nBio: Dr. Walter Kania is a licensed Clinical and Consulting Psychologist. He holds a PhD from Michigan State University. He has maintained an active Clinical and Consulting practice. He also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Texas Christian University. He is ordained in the Congregational Church (United Church of Christ) and The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He has served on the faculties of Texas Christian University\, Bethany College\, The Ohio State University\, and The Renaissance Academy of Florida Gulf Coast University. He is the author of five books\, “Healthy Religion\,” “A Believable Bible\,” “A Credible Christianity”\, and “Spirituality Without Sin and Salvation.” His newest book #5 will be available early 2019. The title is “Spiritual\nPsychology.” He conducts seminars and is a frequent speaker in the fields of Psychology\, Religion\, and Spirituality.
