DESCRIPTION:Sunday Service — 10:30 a.m. \nSpeaker —  Kip Curtis \nLeader — Hayley Young \nTitle and Topic — Morality\, Ethics\, Race\, and the Environment: New Thoughts on Old Topics \nBio — Kip Curtis is an associate professor of environmental history at the Ohio State University where he teaches on the Mansfield Regional Campus. He has published research on the environmental history of mining\, the place of Henry David Thoreau in environmental history\, and the role of ritual and bodily engagement in fostering environmental ethics. For the past half-decade\, he has been developing a community engaged research project in Mansfield\, Ohio that sought to build a community of practice around local food production. Through this work he helped to create the Richland Gro-Op\, a cooperative of micro farm growers based in Mansfield\, Ohio. Before moving to Ohio\, Kip developed and launched a schoolyard gardening project in St. Petersburg\, Florida called the Edible Peace Patch Project\, which continues to operate eight schoolyard gardens in that city’s Title 1 elementary schools as a vehicle for reducing drop rates and enhancing science education. \n*Masks are requested in the building*\nFellowship has returned. Serving as our parish minister\, he was ordained with us and has served us since 2015. Rev. Will is bi-vocational\, serving also as a public school educator. Rev Will is active with anti-racism work within Knox\, Richland\, and Wayne Counties and throughout the state; he works with the Heritage Universalist groups\, including the Universalist Convocation\, and Rev Will is active within the Central East Region’s Summer Institute\, serving on the ministry/chaplain team for the past three years. Passionate about liberation theological perspectives and eco-feminism\, Rev Will advocates for LGBTQ+ rights\, anti-racism and economic justice\, affirming the worth and dignity of each person\, fighting for justice\, equity\, and compassion in human relations. Will Humphrey served two Lutheran (ELCA) congregations as a youth pastor and a Church of Christ congregation as an educator prior to coming to All Souls. Serving as our parish minister\, he was ordained with us and has served us since 2015. Rev. Will is bi-vocational\, serving also as a public school educator. Rev Will is active with anti-racism work within Knox\, Richland\, and Wayne Counties and throughout the state; he works with the Heritage Universalist groups\, including the Universalist Convocation\, and Rev Will is active within the Central East Region’s Summer Institute\, serving on the ministry/chaplain team for the past three years. Passionate about liberation theological perspectives and eco-feminism\, Rev Will advocates for LGBTQ+ rights\, anti-racism and economic justice\, affirming the worth and dignity of each person\, fighting for justice\, equity\, and compassion in human relations. Rev Will believes that “the foundation of our faith\, as Unitarian Universalists\, is the Love that we live in our interactions and our daily Social Justice work. \n*Masks are requested in the building*\nFellowship has returned. This “mysterious female” energy continually reveals itself in perfection\, and invites us to an awareness of that voice of creation echoing throughout life in myriad ways. \nBrian will share information from other peoples experiences along with his own experience on creativity. Along with the Tao teachings we will have some fun with a story and song about music and food. \nBio — Brian is the Chairman of the Pulpit and Worship Committee at All Souls but back for his 10th talk at the pulpit. Brian has been Married To Jacqueline for 30 years\, Owner of the Mid-Ohio Supply Company for 40 years and looking forward to life at 60 in the very near future. Brian has 2 cats\, 3 dogs\, over 35 fish\, two grown children and 3 grandchildren. Brian has a love for gardening\, yardwork\, cooking and plays music with his wife in the duo known as Tao Bridge. Hayley will also touch on life lessons she has learned from her personal and professional experiences with death and dying and invites the congregation to share their stories as well. \nPlease bring photos of loved ones who have died — pets\, as well as humans — for our altar of remembrance. \nBio — Hayley works full time for the Ohio Air National Guard where she provides a wide array of support and services to Airmen and their Families. She is also a licensed funeral director and embalmer for the state of Ohio and works part time at a local funeral home. \nHayley has been a member of All Souls since 2015 and serves on the church board. \n*Masks are requested in the building*\nFellowship has returned.
