SUMMARY:Christopher Reynolds — Karuna\, the Breath of the Grandmothers and Grandfathers\, and the Holy Spirit.
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Service — 10:30 a.m. \nLeader — Fonda Kendrick \nSpeaker — Christopher Reynolds \nTitle —  Karuna\, the Breath of the Grandmothers and Grandfathers\, and the Holy Spirit. \nTopic — Karuna is selfless compassion that expects nothing in return\, not even gratitude. To the Buddha\, karuna represented the “quivering of the heart” experienced when. The individual is able to see suffering and must act. Using this idea\, it is possible. to understand the heart of the steam in a sweat lodge. Indigenous Wisdom calls this the “Breath of the Grandmothers and Grandfathers.” With both of these ideas\, it is possible to understand the words of Jesus when he appeared to his disciples after his death and breathed on them and said: \nReceive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any\,\nthey are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any\,\nthey are retained. \nChristopher Reynolds in songs\, stories\, and a short ritual\, invites you to a new dedication to forgiveness. By any name\, be it karuna\, the Breath of the Grandmothers and Grandfathers\, and/or the Holy Spirit (Ruach)\, mercy is a virtue that is a recurring theme of the springtime. We all can learn to live again with new hearts that are carried by the beauty of the season. \nBio —  F. Christopher Reynolds\, M.Ed.\, is a singer\, teacher and roving shaman. His mission is to sing\, to teach\, to heal the peace of dreaming onward. He does this through songs\, chants\, writings\, ritual\, concerts and workshops. He is a singer songwriter with 20 releases. He is the lead author on the only publications on depth psychology\, soul\, creativity\, and giftedness. He is also published in organic creativity in the language classroom. Chris is the founder of No Man’s Folk. He is a co-founder of archetypal ecology. He assists in facilitation rituals for returning veterans with Warriors Journey Home. SUMMARY:Brian Moore -- Living Beyond The Ego
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Service — 10:30 a.m. \nLeader — Brian Moore \nSpeaker — Brian Moore \nTitle — Living Beyond The Ego \nTopic — Being civilized in most cultures primarily constitutes being consumed with attaining “success” in the acquisition of power and things\, which supposedly will provide happiness and prevent unhappiness. The primary idea is of a self who’s a separate being in a separate body\, with a name\, and with cultural and biological data that are similar in values and patriotism to others.\nWe will explore the 7th verse of the Tao that encourages us to update those notions and choose to exist for more than ourselves or our tribe. To radically change our thoughts in order to change our lives.\nMy goal is to break through the confusing perception of the ego\, the psychoanalysis and philosophy and simplify the complicated aspect of understanding the Ego. \nBio — Brian is the Chairman of the Pulpit and Worship Committee at All Souls. Brian has been married to Jacqueline for 30 years\, owner of the Mid-Ohio Supply Company for 40 years\, and looking forward to life at 60. Brian has 2 cats\, 3 dogs\, over 35 fish\, 2 grown children\, and 3 grandchildren. Brian has a love for gardening\, yardwork\, cooking\, and plays music with his wife in the duo known as Tao Bridge. Brian loves being a Unitarian Universalist and serving the church. \nFellowship has returned. SUMMARY:Rev. Joan VanBecelaere -- Living In a Post Roe World
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Service — 10:30 a.m. \nLeader — Reed Richmond \nSpeaker — Rev. Joan VanBecelaere \nTitle — Living In a Post Roe World \nTopic — In 1802\, then-president Thomas Jefferson wrote a letter explaining his understanding of the First Amendment’s religion clause as reflecting the view of “the whole American people which declared that their legislature should ‘make no law respecting an establishment of religion\, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof\,’ thus building a wall between church and State.” But It appears now that some legislators and courts are committed to inserting their personal convictions\, even religious convictions\, into all aspects of public life\, especially in matters of reproductive rights. What can we do now to help support reproductive rights in Ohio and strengthen the separation of church and state? \nBio — Rev. Joan VanBecelaere is a retired Unitarian Universalist community minister living in Columbus\, Ohio. Prior to retirement\, she was the Executive Director of UU Justice Ohio. She currently serves on the board of the national Voter Empowerment Project\, a non profit that supports increased voter engagement in under-represented and marginalized populations. She serves as treasurer on the board of the StoryTellers of Central Ohio and believes that effective story work can help us understand one another and change minds and hearts. \nPrior to her work with UU Justice Ohio\, Rev VanBecelaere was regional Lead with the Central East Region\, district executive for the old Ohio Meadville District\, vice president for student services at Iliff School of Theology in Denver CO\, and taught as an adjunct instructor in UU polity. \nShe is a member of the North Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Lewis Center\, Ohio. She lives in Columbus with her spouse\, Jerry\, and four rambunctious felines. \nFellowship has returned. Join us downstairs after service for coffee and conversation. \n  \n*Masks are requested in the building*
