SUMMARY:Anthony Brown — The Heart of the Matter: Restoring Dignity to Our Homeless Neighbors
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Service — 10:30 a.m. \nLeader — Margaret Lin \nSpeaker — Anthony Brown \nTitle — The Heart of the Matter: Restoring Dignity to Our Homeless Neighbors \nTopic — A conversation about seeing the humanity behind homelessness — exploring practical ways communities\, churches\, and individuals can care for those experiencing homelessness with compassion\, not judgment. This could cover things like outreach\, advocacy\, transitional housing\, emotional support\, and the power of simply listening. \nBio — Anthony Brown is the founder and director of Coordinating & Assisting Recovery Environments (C.A.R.E.)\, located in Anaheim\, California. Since 1999\, Anthony’s passion is providing specialized treatment for individuals who suffer with mental illness combined with a substance use disorder. With a B.S. in Nursing from California State University Fullerton\, Anthony developed and directed a long-term residential treatment model\, which has fueled his dream to open a home for those who have suffered from the disease of addiction and mental illness. He currently enjoys being thankful for each breath and gratefully lives every moment of his amazing life. \nJoin us downstairs after service for coffee and conversation. \nMasks are optional in the building\, and we fully support individuals’ choices regarding their use.
