To the Buddha\, karuna represented the “quivering of the heart” experienced when. The individual is able to see suffering and must act. Using this idea\, it is possible. to understand the heart of the steam in a sweat lodge. Indigenous Wisdom calls this the “Breath of the Grandmothers and Grandfathers.” With both of these ideas\, it is possible to understand the words of Jesus when he appeared to his disciples after his death and breathed on them and said: \nReceive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any\,\nthey are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any\,\nthey are retained. \nChristopher Reynolds in songs\, stories\, and a short ritual\, invites you to a new dedication to forgiveness. By any name\, be it karuna\, the Breath of the Grandmothers and Grandfathers\, and/or the Holy Spirit (Ruach)\, mercy is a virtue that is a recurring theme of the springtime.
