Wendy Bartlett – Dark and Stormy: Unitarian Theology and Ghost Stories

October 5 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Sunday Service — 10:30 a.m.

Leader — Margaret Lin

Speaker — Wendy Bartlett

Title — Dark and Stormy: Unitarian Theology and Ghost Stories

Topic — Thank goodness it’s October, and we can finally talk about ghost stories! Rev. Dr. Susan Ritchie has written a fascinating book about how Unitarian theology found its way into “gothic and ghostly literature,” and we’re there for it! Wendy will share some of the insights that Rev. Ritchie reveals (like that alliteration?) and she promises us a shiver or two along the way…..

Bio — Wendy Bartlett is a Quaker who was raised in, and rejoices in, Unitarian Universalist spaces. Wendy graduated from the Unitarian Universalist House of Studies with a Master of Divinity degree in 2021. She is involved with social justice issues including anti-racism and LGBTQ concerns. She lives with her grown-up son and a grandcat in Fairlawn, Ohio.

Join us downstairs after service for coffee and conversation.

Masks are optional in the building, and we fully support individuals’ choices regarding their use.
