Family Spirits Celebration Potluck and Hungry Ghost Ceremony
Sunday, September 14, 2025
Sacred Stone Mystical Farm
1-4 pm
Potluck starts at 1pm and Hungry Ghost Ceremony starts at 2pm
For the potluck, bring food that a loving person who you would like to honor loved to eat, a story, song, dance connected to that person. You are encouraged to honor a deceased person in your life who has continued to care for you and’/your family from the other side through After Death Communication (ADC). Our feast is to show gratitude and to care for that reality of enduring love in our lives. Love does not die. After death, our relationships change shape and continue to evolve.
The potluck will be followed by a Hungry Ghost Ceremony for all people, all times, all places. In the film, The Sixth Sense, the character played by Bruce Willis is a typical Hungry Ghost. He is a person who does not know he is dead. Persons who die violently, suddenly, or young sometimes get confused and caught in a chronic loop of suffering. The Hungry Ghost or Wandering Soul
Ceremony originates with the Buddhist tradition. We join with the intention of waking them up from their confusion, helping them remember who they are and inviting them to move to a better place. Chris Reynolds will share the Hungry Ghost Ceremony used by Warriors Journey Home in their peace and reconciliation pilgrimages to Vietnam and in the Witness Tree liturgy.
