Topic — Our shared Unitarian Universalist theology teaches us that life is deeply relational, not simply transactional. And yet, it is almost inevitable, if not expected, to forget the sacred truth that the changing of the seasons brings us: we—each one of us—are already holy as we are! Join All Souls UU Church of Ohio, and Cassandra Montenegro of the Unitarian Universalist Association, for a time of ritual and stillness, prayer and song, as we witness and celebrate the holiness and wonder present and living in us all.
Join us for our annual Halloween service, filled with seasonal spirit, community fun, and a little spooky joy! Everyone is encouraged to come in costume — whether you’re scary, silly, or sweet — and take part in our beloved costume parade around the pews.
All ages are welcome to dress up and celebrate together as we honor the playful, creative energy of the season. Candy may or may not be involved… 👻🍬
Bio — Cassandra Montenegro (she|ella) is on Central East Regional staff of the Unitarian Universalist Association and primarily serves congregations in Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, and Western New York. A queer Latina from South Florida, Cassandra brings a unique blend of experience in law, education, ministry, and chaplaincy. Cassandra holds undergraduate degrees in Art History and Spanish Literature from Williams College, a J.D. from the University of Florida, and an M.Div. from Harvard Divinity School. Before working at the UUA, Cassandra completed her congregational internship at First Parish in Cambridge and served as a chaplain intern at McLean Hospital, facilitating trauma-informed, evidence-based spiritual care groups. When she’s not supporting congregations, Cassie enjoys birdwatching and spending time with her Mini Aussie, Foxy.
